  • Mr. Bin Yang2023-01-17Mr. Yang Bin joined Prof. Leng's research group in September 2019. His phd topic focused on multiscale characterization of the short-term and long-term interaction between surface-treatment emulsion and porous asphalt (PA) mixture towards more durable PA road surfaces. He obtained his Master degree from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). His research interests include the low-noise pavements, preventive maintenance technologies for asphalt pavements.
  • Ms. Jingting Lan2023-01-17Ms. Jingting Lan joined Prof. Leng's research group as a Research Assistant in November 2018. Then she obtained her master’s degree in civil engineering from PolyU in September 2020, and her MSc research focused on the PET-derived additives modified glasphalt. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student from September 2021. her Ph.D. research is related to repurposing waste plastics into cleaner asphalt pavement materials.
  • Mr. Meizhao Han2023-01-17Mr. Meizhao Han joined Prof. Leng’s research group as a Joint PhD student from Harbin Institute of Technology in August 2021. He obtained his master’s degree in Chemical Technology from Guangxi University in 2019. His PhD research focuses on the performance and working mechanism of oil-absorbing organogel as a novel asphalt binder modifier. His research interests include conventional asphalt modifiers such as SBS, rubber, fibre, epoxy resins and polyurethanes and developing novel modifiers, e.g.
  • Mr. Gaoyang Li2023-01-17Mr. Gaoyang Li is currently a Ph.D. student in Prof. Leng's group. He obtained his master degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2019 with the topic related to modeling of asphalt materials. Now his research mainly focuses on polyurethane modified asphalt materials.
  • Mr. Ruiqi Chen2023-01-17Mr. Ruiqi CHEN joined Prof. Leng’s group in May 2020. His Ph.D. research focuses on the multiscale characterization of the interaction between polymer and asphalt. He obtained his master’s and bachelor’s degree in polymer science and engineering from Wuhan Institute of Technology in 2016 and 2013, respectively. Before joining this group, he worked as a Senior Engineer at Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI), Hong Kong.
  • Mr. Xin Sui2023-01-19Mr. Xin Sui joined Prof. Leng’s research group in January 2022. He obtained his master’s and bachelor’s degree from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in 2020 and 2018, respectively. His research interests include the non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT & E) of transport infrastructure using ground-penetrating radar (GPR).
  • Mr. Zijian He2023-01-17Mr. Zijian He joined Prof. Leng’s group as a MSc student from August 2019. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2019 and MSc degree from PolyU in 2021. His MSc work focused on long-term performance of asphalt mortar mixed with reclaimed asphalt pavement and recycling additives. He started his Ph.D study from September 2022 and his research work focuses on toughening of steel bridge deck paving materials.
  • Mr. Zhaojie Chen2023-12-15Mr. Zhaojie Chen joined Prof. Leng’s research group as a Ph.D. student in September 2023. Currently, his research topic is on dynamic life cycle assessment and physics-informed machine learning. Prior to this, he obtained his master's degrees in pavement engineering from the South China University of Technology in 2023. His research interests include intelligent pavement management, mechanics analysis, as well as the integration of FWD and GPR techniques for non-destructive evaluation.
  • Mr. Lingxiao Shangguan2023-12-15Mr. Lingxiao Shangguan joined Prof. Leng's group in September 2023. His Ph.D. study focuses on the detection of pavement structural diseases and the pavement mechanical response based on ground penetrating radar and finite element model. He obtained his bechalor's degree in Transportation engineering from Chang'an University and master degree from Harbin Institue of Technology.
  • Mr. Shaowei Zhang2023-08-23Mr. Shaowei Zhang joined Dr. Leng's group in August 2022 as a research assistant. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student and his research topic focuses on road noise detection and comprehensive investigation of the semi-wet pre-treated rubber (PTR) for its multi-purpose use in asphalt pavement. He obtained his Master's degree from the South China University of Technology in 2022. His research work focused on compound warm mix asphalt technology and lignin-modified asphalt.
